Meet the Team 2013

Nicola Chung

Hi! I’m Nicola and I like food. This is why I’m a third year studying Food Science and Tech and a Diploma in Innovation Management. I also love the colour pink and my phone. During my free time, I like hanging out with my friends, going to the beach and watching movies.

Jacqueline Vaughan

Currently in her second-last semester of a Bachelor of Arts degree, Jacqueline’s study has focused on Sociology and Human Resource Management. Her career ambition is to work in the area of Career Coaching and Motivational Mentoring for greater career alignment. By completing the Diploma in Innovation Management Jacqueline hopes to gain a greater understanding of business principles by applying her related work experience. Always keen to learn new and innovative ways, Jacqueline has a special interest in female entrepreneurs. To that end she volunteers as a scribe to Heads Over Heels, a membership-based organisation that assists female entrepreneurs through mentoring, networking connections and strategic and operational guidance.

Alan Liu

Alan is currently a 4th year Commerce/Economics student, having a strong passion for Finance and International Business. He enjoys working with numbers, ensuring all the society’s revenues and expenses are in check to run the year’s exciting events. He enjoys travelling by having been to countries in the Asia-Pacific and Europe, never wanting to stay in one place for too long. In his spare time he likes playing PS3, eating out, hitting the karaoke bar and staying up to watch football matches as an avid supporter of Chelsea F.C.

ARC Delegate

Alex Scriven

Alex is a 3rd year Commerce / Science student also undertaking the Diploma in Innovation Management. He finds it really interesting to explore the frontier between science and commercialisation as well as the intellectual property aspects of innovation. Alex likes to get involved in the startup community as well as pursuing his scientific interests in biotechnology. As the Vice President and ARC Delegate of BABSOC/EISSOC he is excited to share this passion for science and business with the wider UNSW community.

Alan Jackson

Alan is a 2nd Year Industrial Design Student at UNSW who is also completing the Diploma in Innovation Management. Whilst primarily charged with the duties of coordinating the sponsorship activities of the club, a career ambition of becoming an accomplished innovator is driving Alan to put many creative options on the table for the benefit of BABSOC. When all else fails, his training as a pastry chef usually offers some (tasty) real world solutions which he is not afraid to fall back on. Alan has also recently acquired a taste for international backpacking adventures and despite enduring some of the most ‘austere’ hostels in Europe, remains defiantly hungry for more!

Scott Coleman

Scott, a member of EISSOC Sponsorship Team, is a current undergraduate science student at UNSW who has completed a major in psychology and has taken courses in computer science and linguistics, as well as entrepreneurship and innovation. He has recently become more active in the Sydney startup scene, but has long dreamed of flying to Silicon Valley to pitch the next big web startup.

Events Manager

Christina Kinley

Christina is a 4th year Music/Education student who is also undertaking the Diploma in Innovation Management. With previous experience in organising small to large-scale functions, Christina is very enthusiastic about her role as Events Manager. As an Events Manager, she strives to combine her creative ideas with logic to ensure functions are enjoyable, purposeful and run smoothly. Christina spends her free time studying, singing, saying yes to too many shifts at her casual job, planning to travel the world and searching for a social life.

IT Manager

Sam El-Husseini

Sam is the IT manager of BABSOC/EISSOC for 2013. He’s in his fourth year of Software Engineering. He takes care of everything IT!! Sam loves travelling, the beach, and enjoys regular long distance runs around Sydney! He will be taking part in the Sydney half marathon this year for the second year in a row.
